What we collect, why we have it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Last updated 2026-08-08
Draft — not yet reviewed by a lawyer. It describes the intended practice and exists so the footer link resolves. Before launch it needs checking against the data we actually process and the jurisdictions we actually serve.

1.What this covers

This describes what Brandwik does with personal data on this website and in the product. Your own store's customers are a separate matter: for their data you are the one deciding how it is used, and we process it on your behalf in order to run your store.

2.What we collect

Three kinds of thing, and nothing beyond what the service needs:

  • What you give us — name, email, store details, billing information, and anything you write to support.
  • What the product generates — your store configuration, orders, and records of activity in your account.
  • What the site records — basic analytics about pages visited and device type, plus the logs any web service keeps.

3.Why we use it

To run your store, take payment, answer your questions, keep accounts secure, and understand which parts of the product are working. We do not sell personal data.

4.Who else sees it

Service providers we need in order to operate — hosting, payment processing, email delivery, error reporting, analytics — each seeing only what their job requires. We also disclose data where the law requires it. Providers may operate in countries other than yours.

5.How long we keep it

Account and store data for as long as your account is open, and for a period afterwards where we need it to meet legal, tax or accounting obligations. Support correspondence is kept so we have the history when you write again.

6.Cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and collect basic analytics. You can clear or block them in your browser, though signed-in areas will not work properly without the essential ones.

7.What you can ask for

You can ask for a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to a particular use. Write to us and we will respond. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.

8.Security

We use encryption in transit, restrict internal access to what is necessary, and keep the platform patched. No service can promise perfect security; if a breach affects your data we will tell you.

9.Changes

When this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and let account holders know before the change takes effect.
